How to Cut a Cigar

Cutting a Cigar is not very easy and harder than you might think. The cutting is done with a wedge cutter ( V cutter ), guillotine cutter, scissors, piercer or a knife.

Cutting your cigar means you will have a better tasting smoke.

Cut an 1/8 inch off of the head of the cigar.

If you are using scissors, keep them sharp and hold your cigar against one of the blades while you snip, Some scissors can be hard to use and skill is required to make a clean cut.

Remember when using guillotine cutters that double blade cutters are better than single blade cutters and less likely to damage the cigar. Also they must be cleaned more often.

IF you use a single blade cutter, hold the cigar against the far end and cut quickly. If using double blade guillotine cutters, hold the cigar against one of the blades and cut with the other blade.

Vee Shaped Cigar Cutters are very popular for cutting a cigar and also the most reliable. Piercing a hole is good but do not go to deep or it will be ruin your cigar.
