Rocky Patel OSG 2002 |

Rocky Patel is a perfectionist. People who smoke his cigars like that about him. Still, even his most ardent fans were disappointed when Patel delayed production on his long-anticipated Original Sun Grown cigars to turn his razor sharp focus onto his Vintage series. Of course Vintage fans have trouble begrudging him that decision, but years went by before Patel finally released his Original Sun Grown line. Of the original production, Rocky Patel OSG (2002), fewer than 50,000 were made. Patel fans keep this premium, full-bodied cigar in high demand. Because of their rarity, some OSGs are surely languishing in living-room humidors, but this cigar was meant to be smoked. If you’re a fan of the Vintage line, the OSG (2002) may surprise you with its stronger flavor. A dark Honduran wrapper surrounds the Honduran filler. You’ll notice a few veins on the caramel-colored wrapper, but not too many. This baby is firm to the touch, packed full of tobacco. On lighting, you’ll notice that the draw is easy and the smoke sweetly fragrant. The first puff produces an immediate array of flavor. A strong hint of cedar is followed by a spicy sweetness, surrounded by slight flavors of pepper and wood. The burn is even throughout the smoke. If you’re fortunate enough to find this stick in stock, buy as many as you can afford. There is no telling when you’ll find them again, and you’ll definitely want to smoke more than one. |
