The Oliva Serie O Maduro Provides a Pleasing Variation on a Winning Theme.
Like all great composers, the blend connoisseurs at Oliva Cigars know how to produce thrilling variations on a theme. At Oliva, their compositions are cigars, not symphonies, but the idea is the same, and the results are just as pleasing. Like Haydn’s variation on Brahms, Oliva has added a rich new theme to its Serie O cigar by rolling it in a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro. The qualities that make the original a masterpiece are fully present, offered in a harmonious new expression. This is a Nicaraguan Puro with Cuban seed and lore in its pedigree.
The prelude of the piece is the pre-light aroma and taste. Satisfying whiffs of dark chocolate fill the nose, with an underscore of cedary spice. Once clipped, the cold draw takes in a creamy cup of cocoa. The same flavors highlight the first movement of the smoking experience, only more “forte”! As the score progresses, expect the cedar to come forward, while the cocoa recedes. Clear notes of honey will also be enjoyed. As the concert concludes, semisweet chocolate fills the palate and lingers through the finish. This Oliva continues the commitment to medium-bodied, silky smooth cigars. Six different Maduros are offered, lovely variations on a winning theme. |
