Macanudo Cigars are one of the oldest brands produced in the Dominican Republic. Originally, it was only a frontmark for Punch cigars that were produced in Jamaica, but since then it has become a a complete brand all on its own. Since then, these cigars have become one of the leading premium cigar brands in the entire world. This is not slightly due to the leadership under which they were designed. The line of cigars was developed by Ramon Cifuentes, one of the leading tobacconists in the entire world.

Today, theses cigars are still produced exclusively in the Dominican Republic. Not even those that are sold in the United States have been outsourced to the United States. These cigars are also not only produced with the best skill and expertise in tobacco, but also with the best ingredients. Only the highest quality Connecticut Shade wrapper and a binder grown in the St. Andres Tuxtla Valley of Mexico are used in these Macanudo cigars. This wrapper and binder were recently re-engineered, in 1999, in an attempt to keep up the spectacular flavor.

This line of cigar is known mostly for its robust, deep, and smooth flavor. Though they still are a throwback to the origins of the tobacco art, these cigars are also constantly changing, to keep up with the subtle and evolved palate that a Macunudo smoker is known for.
