Gurkha Centurian |

Gurkha is one of the most respected cigar makers in the world, and the blend that makes up the Centurian can be simply described as impressive. Originally commissioned by the Sultan of Brunei for his exclusive use, these 6x60 special edition perfectos were said to be among his daily favorites. Now that the Centurian is available to the general public, albeit in limited quantity, others may also have the chance to enjoy the cigar of royals and dignitaries. Hand-crafted in the Dominican Republic by K. Hansotia & Co., the Centurian is fashioned with tapers at both end of the Connecticut wrapper. Both the head and the foot are open slightly. Inside is an intoxicating medium-bold blend of Cuban-seed Nicaraguan Ligero, that has been aged for no less than eight years. Centurians have a slightly spicy flavor hinting of nutmeg, coffee, leather and cardamon, that is apparent from the very first rich draw and continues till the very end. The flawless construction envelops the aged aromatic tobacco in a an oily wrapper the color of chocolate brown that is smooth and low in visible veins. There''s no shortage of billowy smoke, and the burn time is approximately 120 minutes from start to finish. Overall, the Gurkha Centurian is an experience not to be missed. |
