Cusano

The cigar in one form or another has been around for hundreds of years. Columbus did his part to make cigar smoking a popular pastime. In fact, by 1900 four out of five men in the US smoked cigars. Michael Chiusano decided to join the cigar industry in 1995 after visiting the Dominican Republic on another business matter. Chiusano was given a cigar rolled with local tobacco and was blown away by the taste and the quality, so he had 100 cigars made and brought them back to the States. He sold them in local shops and the response was overwhelming. Chiusano decided to take a chance and started the brand Cusano, as a thank you gesture for the people who supported his initial blend. Cusano started getting orders from around the country and the company became a player in the cigar industry.

Cusano produces a line of cigars that contain different qualities. The Cusano Corojo’97 is made from a Corojo leaf which is a combination of two Cuban seeds that are grown in Ecuador. The Corojo’97 won the best newcomer award in 2005 because of its wood and leather flavors and a cedar finish. Smoke magazine gave the Corojo’97 a 96 rating. Another top ranked performer in the Cusano line is the Cusano 18 Double Connecticut. The tobacco filler is from Dominican crops of 1985 and a Connecticut shade wrapper and bidder are added so there’s creaminess and a sweet taste to the cigar. Cusano combines Connecticut broadleaf with a Brazilian Mata Fina and a rare Dominican wrapper to produce the Cusano 18 Paired Maduro

The Cusano line is filled with award winning blends at popular prices. The Cusano collection also includes the Cusano 59 Rare Cameroon which is made in the Churchill, Preferido, Robusto and Toro Gordo selections. The Cusano CC line includes the Corona, Robusto and Torpedo blends. The Cusano LXI Habano Sun Grown has a Churchill, Preferido, Robusto and Toro Gordo blend. The Cusano M1, MC and P1 lines all contain the Churchill, Corona, Robusto and the Torpedo. Every cigar in the Cusano line is filled with rich and exotic flavors that have a distinct quality to them.
