Rated Outstanding by Cigar Aficionado magazine, the Cuesta-Rey brand of the J. C. Newman Cigar Company has been handmade for 120 years – first in Cuba, currently in the Tabacalera A. Fuente factory (of world fame) in the Dominican Republic. Five levels of quality control and more than a century of craftsmanship produce such an outstanding cigar as the Cuesta-Rey Centenario and the Cuesta-Rey Centro Fino. All Cuesta-Rey cigars contain the finest Dominican long filler leaves and are aged five years in Spanish cedar lined cabinets.

The Cuesta-Rey Centenario is available in nine sizes and in two different wrappers – Connecticut Shade tobacco for Centenario Naturals and Connecticut Broadleaf tobacco for Centenario Maduros. The sizes of Naturals and Maduros are (largest to smallest): Pyramid, Centenario #60 and #5, Belicoso, and Robusto. A longer though slightly narrower aristocrat in a glass tube is available as well. Naturals (only) are also available as Riviera and Tuscany in an aluminum tube as well as Cameo in tins of ten. The taste of the Naturals is described by Cigar Aficionado as a creamy, smooth, rich mild to medium bodied cigar with a toasty, woody finish; that of the Maduros as dark, rich mild to medium bodied cigar with a smooth, earthy finish as well as a strong chocolate flavor.

Wrapped in Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed Sungrown tobacco, The Cuesta-Rey Centro Fino is available in five sizes (largest to smallest): Churchill, Pyramid, Centro Fino, Belicoso, and Robusto. The taste is described by Cigar Aficionado as very flavorful and a complex medium to full bodied cigar. There are hints of chocolate, coffee, and spice.

Cuesta-Rey cigars as well as other cigars of the J. C. Newman Cigar Company are internationally known for superior quality and taste as well as innovation. Indeed, J. C. Newman Cigar Company introduced the Cameroon wrapper. The only cigar bar in Major League Baseball is the Cuesta-Rey Cigar Bar at Tropicana Field of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
